Commercial divers with a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) approved diving qualification no longer require a Construction Skills Certification Scheme(CSCS) card to work within the construction industry.
The HSE has stipulated that the training undergone to become a commercial diver is highly focused on health and safety; it is equal to or exceeds the requirement of CSCS and should be accepted by Civil Engineering and Construction contractors as adequate demonstration of competence.
