An ultrasonic thickness (UT) meter is a tool commonly used by Commercial and Specialised Diving with reference to inspection work.
The device is frequently used to monitor metal thickness on underwater structures. It helps to provide a more accurate analysis of the condition of the structure. One of the main advantages of using the UT meter is that it does not damage the structure. This has proven to be invaluable for the underwater inspection of structures, which should be inspected and cleaned on a regular basis. Other destructive methods could further deteriorate the structure and should be avoided.
Commercial and Specialised Diving are frequently contacted to survey various marine structures and are able to provide UT meter readings alongside a written and photographic report for our clients. This enables our clients to evaluate and risk asses any potential issues with their structure.
Commercial and Specialised diving have a wealth of experienced divers and supervisors who use UT meters on a regular basis. Please contact us for more information on 01202 580007 today.
